Name:
Gestalt
Description:

Gestalt is a continuation of the thinking that I started during my undergraduate studies with the project Context. I was interested in possibly looking at how I could turn the thinking of how things are inherently tied to the context they're in and turn that inside out and look at the person that was actually wearing the garment and how their own thoughts, feelings and experiences effected how the actual piece of clothing was perceived. I looked at all manor of things including the empty chair technique in Gestalt psychology, shape notes that are used in music and how you can turn the frequency of colours into sounds to create my own version of the alphabet, inspired by the work of Peter Saville with Joy Division and the thinking of Josef Albers.

I also made a Spotify Playlist called Gestalt Soundscapes which was inspired by songs that you can listen to in unison with the world around you. This can be found here.
